Battle Royale R is a CGI Game developed by D-BR in ~2003. It is a auto-battler, where players build characters (referred to as battlers hereon) according to 4 stats, then have them fight against each other in a lobby. Battles repeat every 5 minutes someone is logged into the site, and commence when there are 4 battlers in a lobby.
Gameplay
The game itself has a 'How to Play' page, that summarizes this information better into brief bullet points. See it on Heyuri's instance here. (EN)
Gameplay is very simple. Simply pick a portrait, name, and their according stats.
Each stat corresponds to a specific action each battler can take:
- HP corresponds to how much damage a battler can take before running away, or being defeated,
- Attack corresponds to how much damage a battler can deal to a target,
- Defense corresponds to a damage reduction when the battler is attacked,
- Speed corresponds to the order that the battler will take during battles.
However, the game has more depth to it than stats. There are additional mechanics that go on top of the stat building, and was added over time in later versions as development of the game progressed.
Some of these mechanics include:
- At your health being below 4 (inclusive), your accuracy and evasion will increase.
- When a battlers speed is much higher than your enemys, you can deal 2 attacks during a single interaction.
- Once each battler has attacked once, each consecutive interaction will increase crit rate by 1%. (up until 14%, where it seems to have that 14% crit rate for an additional turn. it returns to the pattern after... maybe it is actually 0.9% and it's just rounded.. and the 5th interaction doesnt count?)
Each battler is also distributed 5 lives, with their lives going down as they lose each battle. At a every consecutive 3 wins, a battler is given an additional life.
If a battler reaches atleast 2 wins and loses all their lives, they will be registered for the Cup, where they will then fight with another 4 people. Whoever wins the Cup will proceed to the next one, to fight against the next.
Heyuri's instance of Battle Royale R
Heyuri's own instance has seen some popularity, with many CGI users registering characters and creating lineages from their respective identities. Namely, The Balancer, made by miredo has spun off a family of Balancers, as detailed in their own page.
